Then he enrolled in the Korean Hybrid system of Hapkido and practiced it for many years. Thereafter, he enrolled in different Martial Arts such as Kung Fu and Thai Muay Thai. He also practiced Japanese Iaido/Iaijutsu, Jujutsu, and Aikido. His interest in Silat started years ago during his university studies as it was introduced to him by Southeast Asian Students from Malaysia and Indonesia. He joined Koentjoro Bela Diri (A Hybrid system made of Tae Kwon Do, Kempo Karate & Silat Harimau) and earned another black belt in this system with a special focus on Silat techniques and Jurus. His decision to focus on learning and teaching Silat only came after he visited many times Malaysia and Indonesia and then stayed in Indonesia for a while. He believes Silat is a complete system and can incorporate all the above-mentioned styles of Martial Arts in addition to its values and interesting historical development. After passing all the necessary exams and mastering all the fundamentals of Al-Azhar system and becoming a member of the Renowned Indonesian Pencak Silat Alazhar Seni Bela Diri, he was given in 2016 the consent and support to open an affiliated Pencak Silat school in Canada and other parts of the world.
